Freelance Translator Registration Guide

Enuncia Global programme guidance · Updated 13 October 2026

A useful translator application makes it easy to understand what you can translate, in which direction, and where your experience is strongest. Enuncia reviews applications for possible project work; joining is not an employment offer or a promise of assignments.

Describe language directions, not just languages

Hindi and English on a list do not tell a reviewer whether you translate Hindi into English, English into Hindi, or both. State each direction separately. Distinguish native languages from languages you can read, speak or translate professionally.

For each direction, describe the work you have actually done. A technical manual, a birth certificate and marketing copy require different judgement. Avoid selecting every specialisation simply to appear in more searches.

  • Source language → target language.
  • Subject and document types you can support.
  • Experience relevant to that direction and subject.
  • Tools, file formats and availability.

Prepare a sample the reviewer can assess

Choose material you own, have permission to share, or have created specifically for your portfolio. Supply the source and your translation together, with a short explanation of the audience and your role. Do not include confidential client documents, identity records or bank details.

If you revised another translator's work, say so. If tools or machine translation contributed materially, describe what you did and checked. A clearly labelled practice sample is more useful than a client project you cannot safely disclose.

A concrete application example

Illustrative example, not a current vacancy: “I translate English into Hindi for training materials. My attached self-created sample contains a short course introduction and terminology notes. I can review availability when a brief arrives; editable Word files are my usual format.”

This tells the team much more than “all languages, any subject, available 24/7”. Replace the example with your own truthful experience.

What registration and review involve

Create a private account, confirm your email ownership and complete the relevant professional roles in the application. Provide accurate information and samples you can share. The team may request clarification or a qualification sample. Follow your application status in the dashboard.

Approval is separate from any project offer. Agree the scope, fee, currency, deadline, revision expectations and payment timing before starting work. Public profiles are optional and require separate consent and approval.
