Make the next owner of a referral enquiry clear
By Enuncia Global ·
A referral can lose momentum when everyone assumes someone else will take the next step. Before handing over the enquiry, identify the person responsible for each immediate action.
Agree the communication path
Ask the client how they prefer to be contacted and obtain permission for the introduction. Identify who can supply the source material, answer questions and approve the quotation. If you will remain involved as the referring partner, explain your role to both parties.
Do not assume that every client message should pass through you. Equally, if the proposed arrangement requires your agency to coordinate the brief, raise that requirement before the project is scoped. The communication model should match the agreed commercial relationship.
Keep changes attached to the existing enquiry
When the client updates a deadline, file or language requirement, make the change explicit. Refer to the original record where available rather than starting a disconnected conversation that could be mistaken for another project.
Enuncia reviews the requested work and confirms accepted scope. Your affiliate role can help establish a clear handoff, but it does not automatically grant quoting authority or responsibility for production. Confirm those boundaries and any eligible commission in the written partner agreement.
