Write for Enuncia: Translation and Localisation Guidelines
Enuncia Global programme guidance · Updated 13 October 2026
Enuncia welcomes proposals grounded in useful experience. The contributor programme is for explaining a specific problem clearly, with reliable support and an identifiable audience. Submission does not guarantee publication or payment.
Choose one reader and one useful question
Define who the article is for and what they should be able to do after reading it. “How a translator prepares a terminology query” is more assessable than “Everything about translation”. Explain how your experience supports the topic.
Suitable areas include translation practice, localisation workflows, language and culture, document preparation and professional development. Avoid generic articles that exist mainly to place a backlink.
A proposal the editor can assess
A source plan should name the evidence you will use, not simply promise that the article will be researched. Distinguish your experience from a general claim, and check whether a rule or requirement applies to a particular organisation or jurisdiction.
- Working title and intended reader.
- The practical question the article answers.
- A short outline with the main steps or argument.
- Your relevant experience and a writing sample.
- Primary sources, permissions and potential conflicts.
- Any material assistance or commercial interest.
Example outline: preparing a terminology query
Illustrative proposal: “Audience: translators starting an unfamiliar technical brief. Outcome: send a concise query with source context, proposed options and a deadline for clarification. Outline: identify ambiguity; collect relevant context; explain the alternatives; record the agreed answer.”
The author could provide a self-created example query and explain how to protect confidential client text. This example is an editorial preparation aid, not a published expert case study or an approved commission.
Credit, rights and editorial review
Submit original work you have the right to share. Obtain permission for third-party images and examples, and disclose commercial relationships. Do not invent client stories, credentials, quotations or research findings.
Confirm the publication channel, byline, biography, editorial changes, reuse rights and any payment terms before preparing commissioned work. Contributor approval does not automatically approve an article; the editor can request revisions or decline a proposal.
Prepare your application
Apply to the contributor programme with your expertise and a suitable writing sample. Approved contributors can submit proposals through the dashboard. Keep confidential documents out of samples and use a clear source plan.
The downloadable outline below can help prepare your proposal. Review the contributor guidelines and terms before submission.
