Better briefs

Make the deadline in your referral brief unambiguous

By Enuncia Global ·

'Urgent' describes pressure, but it does not define a delivery requirement. When introducing a language project, give Enuncia the actual date and time the client needs, along with the reason that deadline matters.

Separate delivery from final submission

Record the client's external submission deadline and the time they need for their own review. If several files will arrive at different times, list those stages. Include the time zone whenever parties are in different locations, and avoid relying only on phrases such as 'tomorrow morning'.

Explain whether the source is final. A translation requested for Friday can change substantially if revised source files will arrive on Thursday. Mention approvals, formatting or other requested steps that need to fit within the schedule.

Let Enuncia confirm the feasible arrangement

Share the deadline as a requirement for review, not as a commitment already made. Language direction, volume, complexity and availability all need consideration. If a staged delivery would help, describe it as an option to discuss with the client.

Your referral role is to make the urgency understandable and accurate. Do not promise same-day work, fixed review times or guaranteed delivery before the project has been accepted on agreed terms. Apply through Enuncia Network to explore a structured referral partnership.
