Help catalogue clients brief multilingual product content accurately
By Enuncia Global ·
A product catalogue combines repeatable data with persuasive copy. A useful referral tells Enuncia which parts need translation and which product identifiers or specifications must be preserved.
Separate the content types
Identify product descriptions, headings, specifications, ordering notes and text embedded in artwork. Give the language direction and intended audience, and explain whether product names and codes remain unchanged. Ask the client for approved terminology or an existing reference catalogue where available.
Describe how the source will be supplied: a design file, spreadsheet, document or PDF. If the client expects a print-ready or editable catalogue, state that explicitly. Translating the copy and producing the final layout are different requested outputs that need review.
Keep the product version under control
Record which product list and specification version applies. If prices, model numbers or availability may change, identify who will provide updates and approve the final information. Do not correct technical specifications based on your own assumptions.
