Layout and delivery
Translation and layout are separate parts of a multilingual document brief
By Enuncia Global ·
A client may expect a translated document to look like the original, while the initial enquiry only mentions words. Make the layout expectation explicit when introducing the project to Enuncia.
Describe the source and the output
Identify the document type, page count, language direction and available source files. Ask whether the client needs translated text only, an editable document or a final PDF with the layout recreated. Mention tables, diagrams, footnotes and text inside images.
If design files exist, explain the application and whether fonts and linked assets can be supplied appropriately. A flattened source may require a different scope from an editable layout. Do not assume all source formatting can be reproduced without review.
Clarify how the final file will be used
Record whether the document is for print, online reading or submission to a named recipient. Include any supplied format requirements and identify who will check the final layout. A print-production requirement should be described separately from a reading PDF.
Enuncia reviews the actual files before confirming accepted work. Design and documentation partners can apply to introduce these enquiries through Enuncia Network, with project scope and eligible referral commission established through their respective written arrangements.
